Daniel Paul Wright (born April 3, 1991, in Bartlett, Tennessee) is an American professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cincinnati Reds and Los Angeles Angels from 2016 to 2017. Wright is known for his right-handed pitching and collegiate background at Arkansas State University.
Early life and education
Wright attended Bartlett High School in Tennessee and went on to play college baseball at Arkansas State University. During summers, he also played for the Newport Gulls in the New England Collegiate Baseball League, earning recognition for his performance.
Professional career
Wright was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 10th round of the 2013 MLB draft. He made his MLB debut on May 24, 2016, with the Reds. Later that same year, he was claimed off waivers by the Angels, where he continued pitching through the 2017 season. Over the course of his MLB career, he recorded a win-loss record of 1–6, with a 5.61 ERA and 32 strikeouts.
