Bill Peet (January 29, 1915 – May 11, 2002) was an American animator, storyboard artist, and children’s book author and illustrator. He worked for Walt Disney Productions from 1937 to 1964, where he became a legendary storyteller for classic films, and later created numerous beloved children’s books.

Career at Disney

Peet joined Disney in 1937 and contributed to major animated films, starting with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Over nearly three decades he became one of the studio's most important story men, crafting storyboards for features like Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, One Hundred and One Dalmatians, The Sword in the Stone, and Peter Pan. His compositional theater and imaginative storytelling earned him a reputation as Walt Disney's greatest story artist.
