David Paul Jeremiah (born February 13, 1941) is an American evangelical Christian pastor, author, and founder of Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries. He is the senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church in El Cajon, California, and a widely recognized voice in modern evangelical teaching.
Early life and education
Jeremiah was born in Toledo, Ohio, and grew up in a Christian family deeply engaged in church ministry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cedarville University and a master's degree in theology from Dallas Theological Seminary, combining biblical training with communication and preaching skills.
Ministry
In 1969, Jeremiah founded Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he also started a Christian school. Later, he moved to El Cajon, California, to serve as senior pastor of Scott Memorial Baptist Church, later renamed Shadow Mountain Community Church. Under his leadership, the church grew significantly and became a hub for local and international ministry.
In 1982, he founded Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries, which now broadcasts globally to millions of listeners and viewers. Jeremiah’s preaching emphasizes biblical prophecy, hope, and practical Christian living.
